WHO WE ARE?
OUR MISSION
Styrofoam or Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is a commonly used, low-cost, and lightweight material used in food packaging and construction among others. However, its production releases harmful pollutants, posing environmental risks and health hazards. (Clean Up, 2024) According to Epstein (2023), EPS contributes significantly to waste since it’s not biodegradable, but recycling options are costly. It often ends up in landfills where it continues to produce toxins. (Clean Up, 2024). Despite bans in some states like New York and New Jersey (Coelho, 2022), the Styrofoam market continues to grow (Grand View Research, 2022), which makes it a critical environmental and health concern.
Our business solution is to produce sustainable Polypropylene food packaging that is made from recycled Styrofoam waste collected from food distributors and local government units’ recycling programs.
HOW WE DO IT ?
It's a two-step solution process:
Step 1: We will be breaking down the collected Styrofoam waste through relaxation-densification using low-grade heat, such as solar heat, to shrink EPS at the point of use, eliminating the need for costly and energy-intensive industrial processes. Exposing Styrofoam to temperatures as low as 300°F (149°C) for 10 minutes can densify it by a factor of 50 or more, making it much easier to repurpose. This process does not require industrial-grade equipment or external mechanical forces and can be accomplished through a zero-carbon approach by using simple solar ovens or other sources of low-grade heat (Dennis, R., Dennis, A., Dennis, W., 2022).
Step 2: Once the material has been densified, we will proceed to recycling it and making Polypropylene food containers that will be distributed to the market.
OUR SERVICES
What we offer?
RECYCLE
We offer polystyrene packaging recycling services for food companies, contributing to waste reduction and promoting more sustainable practices in the industry. Our mission is to transform used polystyrene into new environmentally friendly products.
In addition to recycling, we provide more sustainable packaging options for companies committed to the environment. Our sustainable products are an eco-friendly alternative to conventional polystyrene, helping to reduce the carbon footprint and promoting environmental responsibility.
SUSTAINTABLE PRODUCTS
